Creating your Facebook Business Page
Presenter: Marika Taylor. Marika Taylor is the Interactive Media Coordinator at the College of Southern Maryland. She received her B.A from Howard University in Mass Communications and received her M.A from Georgetown University in PR and Corporate Communications. After moving back to her hometown of San Jose, CA to work in radio sales and advertising, she eventually moved back to the Washington, DC area in 2008. She worked for local radio stations 630 WMAL and 107.3 WRQX, but after five years, she decided to shift careers. Ms. Taylor began working with several non-profits managing social media initiatives and sought to broaden her skills even further, which eventually lead her to the College of Southern Maryland in 2012. Currently, she is tasked with creating social media strategies for the college, in addition to overseeing and managing all of the college's social media accounts. The College of Southern Maryland is currently active on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+. She is also responsible for managing marketing campaigns for enrollment, development initiatives and special projects. In addition to her role at the college; she continues to lend her services to non-profits and is active in several industry organizations. She currently resides in Alexandria, VA.
